Prescott Confluence Web Site Launches in January 2017!

Prescott Confluence was an idea born in 2011 -- to create an online nexus for event postings that serve the alternative community of the Prescott area. After recent political events in 2016, I was reminded of this dormant project and the need to leverage community resources in a more organized way.
The intention of this service is to support the formation of community events that allow a mixing -- or confluence -- of diverse people who are ready to show up for play, creativity, healing and a celebration of the amazing diversity that lives among us. Many folks are already doing this work of organizing and facilitating gatherings in their own areas of interest. It is my hope that this web nexus and local calendar of events can serve as a central "posting" area so that we may all know about the amazing things happening in our neighborhoods. The potential of this site is to facilitate meaningful connection among amazing people and activities, and grow our sense of community -- or village if you will -- and in-so-doing make us stronger, resilient, happier and more integrated.
While calendar listings can be freely viewed by the general public, this web site will function as a private, membership-based service. This allows approved members to share event information with anyone in the world, but allows members to create and control the content that is shared. By creating a member-based nexus we have the following advantages:
- Members have a low-cost way of sharing what they, or their organization, is doing
- Members can be informed about what others are doing and avoid duplicating efforts
- Members can potentially join forces with others to offer something much bigger than any one person or organization can do by itself
- Members can create a safer place in a private network in which to nurture our sub-culture through events that highlight play, creativity, healing, learning, kindness, appreciation and celebration -- without the sensational distractions that permeate the dominant culture
- Members of an active network can more directly witness the good will that is happening all around us as a healthy antidote to isolation and despair
Thank you for your support and please consider joining as a member!
